The Junta de Castilla y León finalises the dissemination actions of LIFE+ BACCATA with the exhibition at the Regional Ministry of Development and Environment in Valladolid.
This August, the travelling exhibition LIFE+ BACCATA has been installed at the headquarters of the Regional Ministry of Development and Environment of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, located in Valladolid, in the entrance hall of the same, where both public personnel and all the citizens who enter as visitors circulate. Despite the completion of this LIFE project, it will not be the last point where it can be seen, as the exhibition will continue in new locations, whether they are administrative buildings or academic or cultural environments with an inclination towards natural heritage.
Throughout these five years of the project, this exhibition has visited many natural park houses, all located in the Cantabrian mountain range where the actions were carried out, as well as other places close to provincial capitals (e.g. Sariagos, near León). Sariagos, near León), teaching the local and school population, as well as other habitat users and visitors, the essential characteristics of the yew and the yew habitat, their ethnographic and ecological value, the threats they suffer and the Natura Network of which they form part, in order to explain in an understandable way the actions of the project for their conservation and restoration.
Undoubtedly, this type of exhibition complements the rest of the dissemination measures through social networks and the internet in their work to raise awareness of the uniqueness of the yew groves and the need for conservation, restoring them where necessary, as this LIFE+ BACCATA project has done.
